The White Lotus franchise is known for its meticulously curated soundtracks, each selection enhancing the storytelling. Noticing the show’s shift toward localized music (as seen in Season 2’s Italian soundtrack), we identified an opportunity when Season 3 was announced to be set in Thailand.
Identifying the opportunity to feature authentic Thai music, we worked with Sūn Jùn and Mint to secure an original Thai-language track, "เอาไง (What Do You Want?)”. With its blend of minimalist beats and evocative lyrics, the song perfectly embodies the themes of uncertainty and longing central to the series. Its use across two episodes highlights how well it resonates with the show’s atmosphere and tone.
Sūn Jùn, a visionary Sino-Khmer artist based in France, is known for his fusion of dreamy textures and raw emotion. A classically trained musician, Sūn Jùn broke free from traditional confines to create forward-thinking acoustic and electronic soundscapes. His work is a blend of nostalgia and innovation, shaped by a deep understanding of music’s emotional power.
Sūn Jùn’s work transcends cultural and genre boundaries, and his collaboration with Mint adds an extra level of authenticity to the track. With previous collaborations with international artists like CHLOBOCOP, AntsLive, Tallisker, and Ramengvrl, Sūn Jùn’s distinctive sound has garnered millions of streams worldwide.
Understanding the creative vision of a project is key to finding the perfect musical match. "เอาไง (What Do You Want?)" was a natural fit for the season’s Thai setting, with its authenticity enhancing the storytelling in White Lotus.
